When 3 becomes 4.....

Ever since Ava's first birthday I've been itching to hold another little baby in my arms. At the time it was an itch we weren't quite ready to scratch, but we both knew we wanted another baby in the near future. When the time was right, we decided to stop preventing, certain that we would be welcoming another baby into the world in no time. Unfortunately, things don't always go the way you plan, and the journey became....well, a journey.

On the morning of May 18th, 2010, I tested positive, and couldn't help but jump up and down in the bathroom. I would stop briefly to stare at the test, still not believing it to be true. Sharing the news with Jake is something I'll never forget. Excitement, fear, denial, and pure bliss were just a few of the emotions I felt, but mostly I felt at peace. I just knew this pregnancy would "stick" and that January would be a magical month for us. I prayed and prayed for every pregnancy symptom to reassure me that our baby was growing strong and those prayers were answered. Morning sickness, mood swings, food aversions, cravings(namely salt and vinegar chips), and exhaustion were in full force. Hearing the heartbeat for the first time was one of the best sounds I've ever heard. Feeling the baby made it feel real for the first time.

At 19 weeks we learned Ava was going to have a baby sister! We are oh so thankful to be adding another little girl to our family. It all seems so surreal but not a single day is taken for granted. Life just doesn't get much better than this...

Huh??

This is me trying to figure out what the heck I'm doing! We're going to give this blogging thing a try. Just trying to set it up and "design" it has caused a few gray hairs. I don't need anymore of those!
